The 0s and 1s Account Audit - Double - A Part 1
Time to look at the 2025 Double-A books
Switch Up - Rocky Rivera, Otayo Dubb, Bambu
James Hicks (0% Owned - Age 24 - S2V3) Astros
Any of you happen to see James go off in the AFL like he was the best pitcher there?
People didn’t want to listen, but they are listening now.
James hit the IL in April, and it wasn’t until August that we saw him again. After he came back, he put up a 62% NH% with a 9% SwStr. He missed four months, but he started to get back into form in his last couple of starts. His 70% NH% was ridiculous with a decent but unspectacular 10% SwStr in his final three. AFL is great for guys like James to make up for lost time. He took the momentum to Arizona with him. Besides not giving up any runs in 14 IP, he was able to get his SwStr up to 18%. If you take his last three starts of the season and his four outings in the AFL, he put together a seven outing stretch to close the season with a 66% NH% with a 13.6% SwStr. That’ll work.
Jace Avina (2% Owned - Age 22 - S1V10) Yankees
Jace tore it up in High-A for his first 55 games of the season.
Jace was promoted on 7/11, and he struggled.
Jace is a streaky player. He gets on extreme hot streaks and then goes back to average. Gets hot again and rakes, then goes back to average. Most guys struggle with their first taste of Double-A. Jace has calmed down his strikeouts from the 30%+ of the lower levels. There is progress being made, and he doesn’t swing a limp bat. Like many others, 2026 is a big year for Jace. We keep riding.
Leandro Lopez (1% Owned - Age 22 - S3V6) Rangers
Leandro on the year had a 66% NH% with a 14.5% SwStr.
He is a Smoke Wagon award winner.
I could stop there, but I won’t because too many people are still not paying attention. He did the same thing in High-A for half the year as he did in Double-A.
No hiccups, no speed bumps, just mowed dudes down. Give me all the guys with a K% near 30% and a GB% over 50%. Rangers know what they’re doing as well as anyone. 1% on Fantrax, lol, give me a break.
